Managing screens
Screen status, remote commands, screenshots, moving and unpairing screens.
Every paired screen appears under Screens, inside its group. Tap a screen to see its details and send it commands.
Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Online | The screen checked in within the last minute and plays the latest published version. |
| Updating | Online, but still downloading or switching to the latest version. |
| Offline | No check-in recently. It keeps playing its cached content; this only means it can't reach the server. |
Details also show the screen's model, operating system, agent version, IP addresses and when it was last seen.
Remote commands
Commands are queued and picked up at the screen's next check-in, usually within 15 seconds.
| Command | What it does | Who can use it |
|---|---|---|
| Identify | Shows the screen's name in large type for a few seconds, so you can tell which physical screen is which. | Editors and up |
| Reload | Reloads the player. | Editors and up |
| Screenshot | Captures what's on screen right now and shows it in the editor. | Editors and up |
| Restart player | Restarts the kiosk browser. | Editors and up |
| Maintenance | Opens the on-screen maintenance desktop for someone standing at the screen. | Editors and up |
| Reboot | Restarts the whole device. | Client admins and up |
| Update software | Installs the latest agent and OS updates. | Client admins and up |
Renaming, moving and rotating
From a screen's details you can change its name, move it to another screen group, or override the group's orientation for just this screen (for example one portrait screen in a landscape group). Changes take effect at the screen's next sync.
Unpairing
Unpair disconnects a screen from your organisation. Its access token is revoked immediately and its slot in your device quota becomes free. The screen goes back to showing a QR code, ready to be paired again — by you or anyone else.
Unpair screens before you sell, return or give them away.
